The Vice-Chancellor

Professor Dr. Md. Hazrat Ali is the Vice-Chancellor of “First Capital University of Bangladesh” (FCUB), one of the leading University outside Dhaka. Before joining in FCUB Prof. Ali carried out various responsibilities in Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) like Chairman, Dept. of Agronomy; Director, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural Research System (SAURES); Dean, Faculty of Agriculture and finally the Treasurer, also Syndicate member of SAU for 8 years. He conducted Post Doctoral research in Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS), Japan and Diploma on Plant Breeding in Brassica Oil Crops from Swedish Seed Association, Soalov, Sweden. He obtained long training on Farming System Research and Development from different Universities and Research Institutes of Malaysia and Thailand and also trained on Groundnut Agronomy and Breeding from International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) and Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), India. Prof. Ali is the country representative of Asia Pacific Weed Science Society (APWSS). He has been editing numbers of Journals in the field of Agriculture since long. He is the Director, Board of Director and Member, General Body of Krishi Gobeshona Foundation (KGF). Prof Ali is an internationally renowned scientist and published five books and more than hundreds of scientific articles in reputed national and international journals and participated and presented papers in numbers of international and national conferences. Prof. Ali is the life member of several national and international professional organizations and societies with important positions. For his higher degree and career development he visited and conducted research, participated in training in several universities and research institutions in different countries of the world like Canada, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Netherland, France, Germany, UK, Japan, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, India, Pakistan and Nepal.

The vision of they First Capital University of Bangladesh is to provide Education for Excellence that will enable young men and women of Bangladesh to face the challenges of the new millennium. The FCUB’s mission is to disseminate knowledge for human resource development aiming at enabling you young scholars to cope with the changing competitive world. The broad philosophy and objectives of education policy of the university are to provide quality education ensure uplifment of moral standard, create harmonious relationships, arouse sense of tolerance aiming at creating health atmosphere in the society which will reflect our national identity, culture and heritage.
Initially established with four faculties, (1) Business Administration (2) Law (3)Health Science & Engineering (4) Arts & Science , the FCUB is located in a beautiful place lively with panoramic vie in the suburb, adjacent to Pouro College towards Kushtia road. FCUB is the first private University in Khulna Division where excellent computer lab. rich library, spacious and well ventilated class rooms, congenial politics free academic environment, highly educated and experienced teachers are full time available . At present it is housed in a four-storied magnificent building with a plan to shift in its own campus very soon. It gives me profound pleasure to welcome all of you to visit the campus of the First Capital University of Bangladesh (FCUB), Chuadanga, a first full-fledged private University in Khulna Division that started functioning on March 14, 2012 with the approval of the Government and University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh after fulfillment of all requirements and formalities. The vision of the First Capital University of Bangladesh is to promote Education for Excellence that will enable young men and women of Bangladesh to face the challenges of the new millennium. The FCUB’s mission is to disseminate knowledge for human resource development aiming at enabling young scholars to cope with the changing competitive world. At present university is running with five faculties: (1) Science and Engineering Technology (2) Law (3) Business Administration (4) Arts and Social Science and (5) Agriculture. By this time five hundred students were awarded Bachelor degree from different disciplines, many of them did Master degree in English, Law, Sociology, Public Health and Business Administration from the respective departments. The FCUB is located in a beautiful place lively with panoramic view in the suburb, adjacent to Pouro College towards Kushtia road.
